We have received inquiries about welding spring products and materials, but as a general rule, welding of springs is not recommended.
Springs are made of alloy steel, which is used to manufacture springs. If springs are welded, the welded parts will harden due to the heat effect and cause cracks.
If you want to weld, we recommend that you always select the material and welding method first.
In addition, there is also a method to increase the strength by adding heat to the welded part, but this requires consultation.
Welding is possible if the material is iron.

Example of spring material welding
1. Extension coil spring (without hook) Wire diameter 4 mm x total length 19.5 cm Material: SWPB Production Inquiries Q: Is it possible to make a tension spring
by
welding rings to both ends of tightly wound springs without hooks?
Since there is a possibility that the ring on the hook will come off later, we proposed that we either manufacture a pull spring with a hook or use the first roll of the tight-wound coil that we are currently using as a hook.
* The total length will change if the first roll is made at both ends.
2. Wire processed product Wire diameter 3.5mm Material 60C zinc plated
Although it is a method of brazing instead of welding, the connection part hardens and breaks easily due to excessive heat.
About our product "Wire Ring"
At Fusehatsu Industry, we manufacture "Wire Ring" from the parts used in automobile manual clutches.
This is a product in which the cut end is pad-welded after winding and forming, but because the spring material is high-carbon steel, the welded part is very prone to breakage. Therefore, after welding, we perform "annealing" by adding more heat.
